Penetrating the smoke screen of Coronavirus misinformation

Yet another expert speaks out

by Steve Cook

Here is yet another epidemiologist dispelling the farrago of false stats and misinformation we have been fed by our government and the media.

We featured another on UK Reloaded a few days ago.

This particular expert is not “just some Swedish professor” but the first Chief Scientist at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and  one of the world’s foremost experts in this field. [An epidemiologist is a person who studies or is an expert in the branch of medicine which deals with the incidence, distribution, and possible control of diseases.]

So the government is quite willing to listen to “experts” such as Ferguson with a track record of getting his sums catastrophically wrong so a to justify rushing totalitarian laws through Parliament, crashing the economy and so forth but not willing to listen to expert epidemiologists who warn that the lockdown is the disastrously wrong strategy.

This alongside other factors such as the false mortality stats and so on suggest that either:

  • The government is thick, or
  • The government knows it goofed but would rather further ruin the country for no good reason than admit it made a mistake, or
  • The government is pursuing through lockdown some agenda it isn’t telling us about and for which the “epidemic” is a smoke screen of misinformation.

Anyway, take a look at what  this expert has to say and make up your own mind which it is.

More about Professor Giesecke from the WHO’s own freakin’ website

Johan Giesecke trained as an infectious disease clinician in Stockholm, Sweden during the 1980’s, and from his work with AIDS patients he became interested in the epidemiology of infectious diseases. He received an MSc in epidemiology from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 1992, and then worked as a Senior Lecturer at the school for a few years. After this he became State Epidemiologist for Sweden (1995 to 2005) and during a one-year sabbatical 1999-2000 he led the group working on the revision of the International Health Regulations at WHO HQ. From 2005 to 2014 he was the first Chief Scientist of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).

Professor Giesecke has written a textbook on infectious disease epidemiology, and now teaches on this subject as a professor emeritus at the Karolinska Institute Medical University in Stockholm.
